I just recently got to play out in SoCal for a few dates with Jason Crisp and JR Lozano and man we tore it up!
Here is a live recording of us doing Leanin’ Load written by my friend Lewis Dickson.
A little about this song:
Lewis Dickson and I became friends during my time in Austin. Aside from being an ace defense attorney and wine maker (click on his name above for his website) he also can pen some great lyrics! This song in particular he wrote about living across the street from Billy Gibbons when they grew up in Houston. At some point BB King came by Billy’s house and Lewis saw him in a big Emerald Green Cadillac. Both Billy and Lewis referred to these cars as ‘loads’ because of their size, then add the term “Leaning Load” and you get something like this:
Leanin’ Load
Here are the words:
Well, Ya know I can roll as I pass you on by
Cuz I’ll be leanin in this load and it makes you smile
See I’m ridin’ heavy, don’t even have to try
best get ready I’m gonna double back in a while
Dig this leanin load, gonna eat up that road
Dig this leanin load, gonna eat up that road
Emerald Green Sparkle, Can’t have to much chrome
Don’t worry about home cuz we out on the roam
It’s all custom right down to the bit
We gonna roll in this load till it’s past time to split!
Dig this leanin load, gonna eat up that road
Dig this leanin load, gonna eat up that road
Look out now! Fixin’ to pass you on by!!
(this version I only sang three verses)
You aint got to be no gangsta for real
You lookin good pretty baby and you know how I feel
Just lean over some and don’t be ‘axin’ why
It;s all right here everything money can buy
Dig this leanin load, gonna eat up that road
Dig this leanin load, gonna eat up that road
